In 2024, while conservatives systematically exploited new FEC rulings to create unprecedented coordination between billionaire-funded Super PACs and campaigns, progressives remained trapped in organizational silos — tripping over each other, bumping into each other, wasting resources. The Atlas Project (2007–2018) provided institutional memory for progressives, with $2.8M+ in client work for major Democratic entities. When it disbanded in 2018, this coordination infrastructure vanished just as conservatives began exploiting new legal loopholes.
